easymon. It's that easy!

Monitor machines and systems in real time via app - now available in the Phoenix Contact PLCnext Store

Temperature too high, number of pieces too low, the conveyor belt stops? Engineering specialist in-tech has taken on these potential sources of danger in industrial operations and developed easymon. With this mobile software, users can conveniently monitor their machines and plants from their cell phones. They can access data values from the control system live and are informed in real time if manual intervention is necessary. As of now, the software is available for the first time in Phoenix Contact's App Store. "All plant operators using PLCnext controllers from Phoenix Contact can download easymon and start using it immediately," explains Tobias Wagner, Managing Director at in-tech.

Monitor plants online and mobile

The installation and commissioning were deliberately designed by the developers to be very simple and intuitive. The process is as follows: If, for example, a plant is not to exceed a temperature of 60 degrees, the operator loads easymon from the PLCnext App Store onto the controller. The data points to be monitored are then selected via a convenient web interface and criteria for notification are defined. In addition, the easymon app is installed on a mobile device, which communicates with the machine via a cloud service.

Automated and secure

"With easymon, the user defines the events at which the system should automatically contact him - and by then he has his head and hands free for other tasks," he says. The smartphone displays the current values live and notifies the user as soon as the predefined threshold values are reached. Multiple plants can be monitored with one app as well as one plant with different mobile devices. All data is transmitted in encrypted form and is stored on servers in the EU.

Now available in the Phoenix Contact Store

The software is adaptable to various industrial systems and can also be extended to implement individual "predictive maintenance" applications, for example. Each user can select the offer that suits him best and pays a flat rate per month - without any hidden costs. All users who rely on PLCnext controllers from Phoenix Contact can now download easymon from the App Store and test it for their systems for one month free of charge.
