InnoTrans 2022: in-tech presents extended range of services for digitalization and safety in rail transport

Under the umbrella of in-tech.digital, in-tech combines its systems and software engineering competencies on the way to digital rail. The company will present its expanded range of services at the leading international trade fair for transport technology in Berlin from September 20 - 23, 2022.

Systems & Electrical Engineering, Digitization & Cloud Solutions, Safety, Security & Homologation, and ETCS Retrofitting and Modernization - with these four topics, engineering specialist in-tech will be represented at this year's InnoTrans in Berlin as a co-exhibitor with the Bavarian Railway Technology Cluster in City Cube A at booth 270. The focus will be on the innovative digitization competencies and development services that are applied in cross-industry mobility sectors.

"Software, networking and integration are becoming increasingly important. The development of rail vehicles is characterized by a multitude of rules, laws and standards. With our modern digitalization solutions for everything to do with vehicles and rail transport, we want to set the course for digital rail," says André Brückmann, Head of Engineering Solutions at in-tech GmbH.

Systems and Electrical Engineering

Whether multiple units, locomotives, passenger coaches, streetcars, light rail vehicles or metros: in-tech provides support in the development and integration of systems, control technology and new functions - from conception to approval. The focus is on the standard-compliant development of new concepts, their implementation and integration with a focus on electrical engineering and safety-critical software for control systems and instrumentation and control technology.

Digitalization and Cloud Solutions

The railroad is going digital. The collection and monitoring of vehicle data create opportunities for new maintenance models and thus higher reliability and potential for cost savings. "In addition to agile development for products, mobile applications and apps, our focus is on usability and UX design, as well as cloud and IT solutions," explains Dr. Michael Sturm, CTO of in-tech.digital.

Safety, Security and Homologation

The rail system is complex, increasingly networked and one of the safest transport systems in the world. in-tech provides support in the areas of functional safety and product security. For homologation, the engineering company works in compliance with the fourth railroad package and for new development, modernization and retrofitting in accordance with BOStrab.

Integration of ETCS Onboard Units

Rail vehicles will have to be equipped with ETCS in the near future.

"The integration of an ETCS system requires in-depth knowledge, especially in system technology, electrics and mechanics. The aspects of safety and vehicle approval require experience and a targeted approach in order to avoid unnecessary costs and risks," explains Rainer Grimm, Business Development Transport Systems at in-tech GmbH.

in-tech provides engineering support throughout the entire retrofit process, from analysis of the existing vehicles and the integration concept to testing, acceptance and approval.
