Rail Live 2023: in-tech focuses on the latest developments in the digitalization of rail transport at the trade fair

In Madrid, in-tech is presenting its portfolio of software, safety and system technology for the railroads as well as digital interlockings and ETCS retrofitting

The digital rail of the future: in-tech will once again be presenting its expertise for the digitalization of rail transport at Rail Live in Madrid: from system technology, digitalization, safety and security to ETCS retrofitting and digital interlocking systems (DTSW). From November 29 to December 1, visitors to the joint stand G174D of the German Railway Industry Association (VDB) e.V. will be able to see in-tech GmbH's innovative solutions for themselves.

"With Rail Live, we also want to present our products and services to the Spanish rail market. We have already opened a location in Viladecans in the Barcelona area for this purpose. With our extensive experience from projects in the DACH region, we can now also support Spanish manufacturers and suppliers," says André Brückmann, Director Rail at in-tech GmbH.

Rail Live is Spain's leading international rail exhibition and conference, bringing together operators, infrastructure managers, academics and suppliers to discuss topics and projects related to passenger and freight rail transportation. Over three days, 7,000 professionals from the rail sector are expected to attend to obtain first-hand market information, be inspired by the latest innovations in the sector and forge new business partnerships.

in-tech will be represented at the trade fair with the following topics:

Systems Engineering

in-tech supports its customers throughout the entire development cycle: from the idea to the development, integration of systems, control technology and new functions, right through to approval, whether in the vehicle sector for multiple units, locomotives, passenger coaches, trams, light rail vehicles and subway railroads or for infrastructure projects. The focus is on standard-compliant development, concept creation, implementation and integration with a focus on electrical engineering and safety-critical software for control and safety technology. Especially for complex projects in which model-based approaches are used, in-tech offers the relevant expertise in terms of processes, methods and tools as well as in practical and targeted application.

Digitalization

Software has become an integral part of modern rail systems. Automated driving, new maintenance concepts and the digitalization of infrastructure require software development expertise. in-tech offers the entire portfolio of agile software development, usability and UX design, data engineering as well as mobile applications and cloud and IoT solutions. Coupled with its own strong domain expertise and methodological know-how from the Systems, Safety and Security Engineering segment, the Group is the right partner for digitalization projects in the rail sector.

ETCS-Retrofit

The European Train Control System (ETCS) is the signaling and control component of the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS). The infrastructure is currently being upgraded accordingly. Existing vehicles must be retrofitted in order to be able to operate on the affected routes in the future. in-tech supports the entire retrofitting process from engineering, analysis of the existing vehicles and the integration concept through to testing, acceptance and approval.

Software and Communications for Digital Interlocking (DSTW)

The digital interlocking (DSTW) is a further development of the electronic interlocking (ESTW) and replaces the many different types of interlocking of different designs and generations with digital control and safety technology. In contrast to the ESTW, a DSTW transmits the control commands digitally via fiber optic cables to the points and signals. in-tech offers its know-how in the areas of expansion and maintenance of existing software, development of new software components as well as testing and verification of software components. In addition, in-tech's portfolio includes the planning and implementation of approvals as well as safety management and engineering.
